That is what the Ethiopian goat herder Kaldi noticed about his goats eating the coffee “cherry” fruit from the coffee tree. They were basically under the effects of caffeine and would not sleep.  More than a few years ago, when I was just a boy, my dad would take me to the river to fish and camp overnight. It was a very big deal to me in those days.
